Abstract

The subjects Human Anatomy, Medical Histology and Neuroanatomy constitute the bases of theoretical and practical knowledge for the training of the future doctor; they provide relevant content on the structure of tissues and organs of the human body that will be essential to understand its functioning. Due to the above, a comprehensive review of the 2018 curriculum was contemplated in the update of the 2018 curriculum in order to conceive the integration of the subjects: into a single so-called human structure. In this context, it was proposed to evaluate the relevance of the modification of the curriculum of the Doctor of Medicine and Surgery degree, contemplating the integration of the contents of human anatomy, medical histology, and human neuroanatomy, in the subject Human Structure. For the research design, the action research design was used, which was located within the descriptive scheme, approaching applied research in that it pursues concrete results. Among the main findings are that the subject of Human Structure faces significant challenges in terms of temporal distribution and curricular integration within the framework of an academic semester. Additionally, there is a gap between the theoretical knowledge acquired in the various basic subjects and its practical application.
