Abstract

This research seeks to discover which factors influence young people to choose their career, family motivations, personal interests, job offer, and recommendations from teachers, friends or others. A total sample of two hundred and twenty-two students, one hundred first-year students from the Latin University of Panama and one hundred twenty-two graduate students from the College of La Salle were taken. As a tool for data collection, a questionnaire validated by a suitable person was applied to the total sample of students.                                                                                                                                                                              Results: It was determined that the majority of the students interviewed chose their professional career by preferences of personal taste. The results obtained at the time of analyzing the data showed other variables that were not contemplated in the research, which will be expanded during the analysis of the topic, the proposal and the recommendations.
