COMPETITIVE IMPACT WHEN IMPLEMENTING TECHNOLOGICAL INNOVATION OF X-RAY SERVICES IN TYPE I PRIVATE HOSPITALS IN THE CALIDONIA AREA IN PANAMA CITY

Abstract

The objective of the study was to analyze the competitive impact according to the degree of technological innovation of the x-ray services of Type I Private Hospitals in the Calidonia area of ​​Panama City, and thereby provide decisive elements of judgment to the managers of the need to invest in technological innovation, to increase the possibilities of business success, associated with obtaining a competitive advantage. The type of research was exploratory, qualitative with a non-experimental cross-sectional field design, whose methodology was based on a structured questionnaire with 17 questions associated with technological innovation, according to the format proposed by the Inter-American Development Bank, adapting the closed response options to the context of type of private company, using a weighting matrix with a scale from zero to five, and thus quantitatively determine the degree of competitiveness of the company studied. The instrument was validated by expert judgment. The sample was made up of two Type I Private Hospitals in the Calidonia area of ​​Panama City, and among the relevant conclusions it stands out that there is a directly proportional relationship between the degree of technological innovation of the X-ray service and the level of competitiveness of the Hospital Private Type I.
