Abstract

The main objective of this research was to evaluate Burnout indicators in working graduating students, and to understand the impact that this can have on their academic and work life. This syndrome severely affects performance, and its indicators can occur in both areas, wreaking havoc in the affected person's life and causing an imbalance in their management of work and academic life. The methodology used was a descriptive, cross-sectional, non-experimental, and quantitative design. Non-probabilistic convenience sampling was used. The population consisted of 42 students from the Universidad Latina, Headquarters, who were in their 10th, 11th and 12th semester. The instruments used to collect the data were the Workplace Burnout Inventory and Maslach's General Student Academic Burnout Survey. Results: 44% of students indicated high job exhaustion and 33% of them indicated very high academic exhaustion. 29% of students indicated high occupational cynicism and 24% indicated medium-high academic cynicism. Finally, 33% of students presented high average work efficiency, and 29% presented high average academic efficiency. Conclusión:. the levels of affectation that, on job exhaustion, work effectiveness, low levels of academic efficiency, academic exhaustion and cynicism are evident in this study are important
