Abstract

The sport in Panama deserves to take advantage of the benefits it offers in health, in the psychological, social, educational and economic, sport offers many good opportunities. Sport forms links that raise self-esteem and unite people, despite the distance in many cases. "The practice of sport teaches important skills and values ​​in students that tend to strengthen their integral formation, such as teamwork, goal setting, sense of identity and belonging to a group." For them, the objective is the creation of a strategy of competitive sports orientation to promote the sports culture of the students of the Latin University of Panama. Authors such as Rivera (2007), affirm it. The present investigation is of exploratory type according to the little information that has been found on this subject. The results obtained as a result of the analysis of the surveys applied to medical students made it possible to formulate a competitive sports orientation strategy that encourages the sports culture of the students of the Universidad Latina de Panamá, Headquarters, in view of the fact that the students interested in the sport can be integrated and enjoy the opportunity to be motivated to sport. In conclusion, it can be stated that the strategic path is through motivational talks, with athletes or people involved in a national sport in the first instance without leaving international athletes aside.
